Power Outage in West St. George Leave Residents Confused and Inconvenienced

St. George was in the dark for a little over an hour tonight because of a major power outage on the west end of town.
Lights went out at about 6:50 pm leaving residents confused and a little inconvenienced.
Power was restored after about 40 minutes.
St. Georges energy services department says a power switch went bad, re-routing power through two smaller switches which delivered partial power to the west side of town, but they couldnt take the load for long.
At about 7:10 power was completely out to everything west of the black hill, including Santa Clara.
Assistant to the city manager Marc Mortenson says power was restored at around 7:30 pm.
