Day five of the Beryl homicide trial was full of reenactments’ and reconstruction.
One of those reenactments involved the defendant himself Martin Nelson. Nelson along with the help of his attorney’s reenacted what happen on the night of October 24, 2007 from the courtroom floor.
Reconstruction came from the state’s crime lab firearm expert saying that it would not be possible for Nelson to get off all 16 shots from the ground and not miss once.
During today's proceedings the judge announced that no blood was found at the crime scene. This raised the question if the altercation really took place in the trailer where Nelson lived. The Iron County judge also denied a motion by the defense to take the jury to the Beryl ranch.
The jury could begin deliberations as early as Monday afternoon.
