Elizabeth Smart's accused kidnapper was back in court today for a hearing that will determine how his case moves forward.
A 10-day competency hearing for Brian David Mitchell began this morning in federal court to decide whether Mitchell can assist in his own defense.
The hearing is continued from October, when Elizabeth Smart took the stand and recounted her ordeal with Mitchell and his estranged wife, Wanda Barzee.
A psychiatrist from New York who says Mitchell is competent is expected to testify against Mitchell during the next two weeks.
