Today Southern Utah residents had the opportunity to hear an optimistic look at the future of the nations economy.
At the Presidents and Colleagues meeting, Dixie State Professor of Finance Kyle Wells said that the economy may not be as bad as it seems.
Wells feels that much of this economical slum is due to natural cycles and says it's kind of like history repeating itself.
Wells believes the economy will rebound and things will turn around.
Here in Southern Utah, local economic experts say Washington county definitely felt the impact of the 2008 economic struggle.
The biggest driver had been the housing market and the slowdown may have effected the overall stability of the local economy, however business development continued in 2008 bringing in retailers such as Barnes and Nobel, In and Out Burger and Red Robin.
Officials say the beginning of 2009 may be a rebuilding faze but are optimistic about rebounding and again becoming a bright spot of activity.
