(St. George, UT) - The St. George Lions Club--an annual leader in the fight against this life-threatening disease in southern Utah—will once again rally community support and spirit for the cause Friday, September 14, 2012 through its Tough Enough To Wear Pink Rodeo at the Lions’ Dixie Sunbowl.

The 2011 Pink Rodeo generated $7,500—and cumulatively, $50,000 raised over the last five years has been gifted by the Lions to support breast cancer care and services at Dixie Regional.

According to Wayne Hoppal, chairman of last year’s rodeo, both the St. George Lions membership and those whose lives have been touched by their efforts are deeply grateful for the success of the event. “We’re especially proud of the fact that our community turns out in droves every year to support this very important Pink Night. To be able to say the money stays right here at home—ready to help our loved ones and friends—makes all our efforts worthwhile,” Hoppal said.

John Ames—a fellow Lions member and major sponsor of the Pink night along with Ames Group Realty—says, “We’re grateful to be able to support this event in this way because my family and I have positively benefitted in so many ways by state-of-the-art care available right here at home. And it’s been the generosity of so many friends and neighbors who’ve helped make such care a reality. We’re honored to play a part.”
