  • Art Insights to Letterpress Printing & Graphic Design

    (Cedar City, UT) - Exploring the colorful world of typography and letterpress printing is the realm in which graphic designer Molly Poganski lives. This specialized artisan shares her craft during her presentation for Southern Utah University, Department of Art and Design’s insightful weekly lecture series, Art Insights, on Thursday November 1, 2012. The lecture begins at 7pm in the Great Hall with SUU’s Hunter Conference Center. Admission is free and the general public is encouraged to attend.

    Molly Poganski received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Indiana University. A uniquely skilled craftsperson and artist, Ms. Poganski is an established letterpress printer, graphic designer, screen printer and excels in Adobe Creative Suite. Acclaimed for her work that features creative use of typography enhanced by bold color, she has created a colorful line of greeting cards that are available through www.livingletterpress.com. She works at The Living Letter Press, a design and letterpress printing service, located in Champaign, Illinois. In addition, she is a member of Ladies of Letterpress, an international trade organization of letterpress printers and print enthusiasts.     Art Insights is a weekly program hosted during the fall and spring semesters by SUU’s Art and Design faculty. Students and community members meet weekly to experience presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights and attend gallery openings. Admission is free, and the general public is invited to attend.
