    (St. George, UT) - Dixie State College Director of Athletics Jason Boothe announced Thursday that Bryce Patterson has been hired as the department’s new strength and conditioning coach.



    Patterson replaces Eldon Brough who joined the University of Detroit Mercy. Brough started the program at Dixie State in 2010.



    Boothe said: “We are very fortunate to have Bryce join the Red Storm family to lead our strength and conditioning program. He bringstremendous experience from both Division I and II and is incredibly motivated and passionate about working closely with our coaches and student-athletes to build our program into one of the best in the country.”



    Patterson was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Colorado School of Mines and prior to that he spent two years at Northwest Missouri State University. In addition, he completed internships at the University of Colorado - Boulder and University of Northern Colorado.



    “This is an exciting opportunity for me and I look forward to helping the program, I believe it has a great deal of potential,” Patterson said. “I look forward to building where Eldon left off and giving Red Storm athletes a place to succeed.”



    Patterson hails from Broomfield, Colo. and earned his Master of Science from Northwest Missouri State and his Bachelor of Science from Northern Colorado. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.
