A 19-year-old St. George resident was northbound on Bluff street around 1:20AM when he veered off the road, drove across a parking lot and smashed into the Bliss Hair Salon building at 767 North Bluff Street.
Damage to the building is extensive, including water damage from broken water pipes, and ruined interior and exterior walls. Several foot massage stations and nail stations were destroyed.
The driver told police he fell asleep while driving. But investigators say he was driving under the influence of prescription medication.
He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. He was cited and released at the hospital.
