(Cedar City, UT) - Southern Utah starting pitcher Chase Rezac earned his first career Pitcher of the Week award today after tossing a complete game shutout to help the Thunderbirds take a 14-0 victory over South Dakota State last Thursday. The junior has led the Southern Utah rotation throughout the season striking out 38 batters in 65.1 innings while compiling a 3-7 record. Rezac also filled the designated hitter spot in the lineup, where he collected his fifth homerun of the season and drove in three runs.

Rezac will be back on the mound this weekend as Southern Utah wraps up the regular season with a road series at Oakland. The two teams will start things off with a game this Thursday at 1 p.m. (MT)
