  • Dixie Regional Health and Performance Center Free Marathon Training Lecture

    (St. George, UT) - The Dixie Regional Health and Performance Center invites the public to learn how to improve the biomechanics of running, increasing speed and improving endurance. The first of three lecture Free is Thursday, June 14 at 6:00PM. The lecture will be led by exercise physiologists Trevor Smith and Dayna Player Robinson at the Sports Performance Training gym on the lower level of the Dixie Regional Health and Performance Center at 652 South Medical Center Drive in St. George.

    The lecture is geared for anyone preparing to run the St. George Marathon for the first time as well as veteran runners who may have questions about appropriate training methods. The physiologists will discuss new research-based techniques that give runners the leading edge on their marathon training. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about different methods that can be incorporate into any training program that will help running efficiency and economy. Those attending will learn how to prepare for the starting line and tips for making it to the finish line.

    This lecture is sponsored by Dixie Regional Gateway to Wellness and Sports Performance Training. There will be two additional lectures offered in preparation of the St. George Marathon. The dates are Thursday, July 19 and Thursday, September 13. Topics will include running shoes, heart rate monitors, nutrition and what to expect on race day.
