Sunset on the Square has grown to be a community staple over the past few years, and the City of St. George is looking forward to another successful season. Mayor Dan McArthur said, “I am looking forward to our continued partnership with KCSG television providing quality family entertainment for our citizens with Sunset on the Square.”
This year there are many great movies and special events scheduled. “I tell people, if you haven’t been to Sunset on the Square yet – you really need to go. Our kick-off event will feature the movie Yogi Bear and a contest with great prizes going to the best Yogi & Boo-Boo Bear impersonation. Then, June 22nd, will be our Charity Night. We are encouraging local charities to participate and share their message with the community. Of course, we will also show Fly Boys, which was filmed here in Southern Utah. The director will be joining us with an actor or two and we will auction off signed props from the movie for charity.” explained Ed Merrifield, General Manager of KCSG Television.
The close of the season will be the annual St. George chamber of Commerce night. Chamber members are extended the opportunity to highlight their products and services that evening (August 24, 2012). Other special events are in the works.
Is your family looking for something to do on Friday nights? Join us for every event! Families are encouraged to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the evening and movie when it begins at dusk. Concessions include snow cones, popcorn and food.
