(St. George, UT) – It was expected that the Pine View Panthers should defeat visiting Canyon View on Friday night. The Falcons would serve as the object that Pine View would use in exercising its frustration on.

The Panthers (3-5) ended their four-game Region 9 losing streak by piling up rushing yardage against the Canyon View defense, and on defense, Pine View did not relent even 100 yards to the Falcons offense.

Pine View gained 396 yards on the ground coming mostly from running back Prentiss Miller (203 yards on 22 carries) and quarterback Braxton Peterson (176 on 17 rushes).

Peterson scored five rushing touchdowns and added another 116 yards on 5 of 7 passing (one interception).

The Panthers outgained the Falcons 574 to 87 in yards, were six of eight on third down attempts, and made 27 first downs. Canyon View (2-5) had only eight first downs and threw four interceptions.

Wesley Moeai registered 16 tackles and two sacks. Ty Matavao had 14 tackles and Jaden Ahquin, Xoren Alisa, Brock Bracken and Peterson all had an interception for the Panthers.
