Senior quarterback Braxton Peterson passed for a touchdown and rushed for another while Jake Arslanian caught two touchdown passes and ran a punt back for a 70-yard score as well.
Freshmen Kody Wilstead’s play continued to impress. The freshman has been inserted into games at times, spelling Peterson, to become conditioned to varsity play, and he has shown the ability to handle situations well.
Wilstead passed for 245 yards on 8-of-14 passing (two touchdowns and one interception).
He hooked up with the speedster Arslanian on touchdowns of 52 yards and 82 yards in the third quarter to help the Panthers pull away from the Hawks when the score was 14-11 Pine View.
Pine View’s Prentiss Miller rushed for 113 yards on 21 rushes and Peterson finished with 65 yards on his 11 carries.
Arslanian caught seven passes totaling 200 yards and Tyker Olds had three receptions for 77 yards and one touchdown. Arslanian also had one interception.
Pine View’s defense had five sacks and four interceptions. Ty Matavao registered nine tackles and Austin Gibbs had two interceptions.
Pine View's offense piled up 450 yards to Salem Hills' 230.
