    (St. George, UT) - The Patriot Award was presented in January to SkyWest Airlines by the Department of Defense "Employer Support of Guard and Reserve" (ESGR) given in recognition of employers for practicing leadership and personnel policies that support employee participation in the Guard and Reserves.

    Wayne Wignall, Manager of Maintenance for SkyWest received the award. He was nominated by SkyWest employee William Ludwick of Beaver, Utah, in C Battery, 2nd Battalion, 222nd Field Artillery, now at Army training in Texas.

    SkyWest Airlines headquartered in St. George, Utah, employs more than 10,500 employees in 146 cities across 39 states, 6 Canadian Provinces and 1 city in Mexico operating over 1,500 daily flights.

    ESGR was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve component members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. ESGR operates through the service thousands of volunteers throughout the nation.
