“As one of the nation’s largest furniture retailers and the largest cash buyer of furniture in the country, Furniture Row has unparalleled buying power,” explained Bill McKendry, marketing director for Furniture Row Companies. “A lot of stores say they offer deep discounts. Weekends @ Furniture Row is uniquely positioned to offer true savings of up to 70 percent.”
Catering to strong consumer trends to shop for furniture on weekends, the store will be open only Thursdays through Saturdays. By bringing in new merchandise each week, Weekends @ Furniture Row will offer customers the experience of shopping virtually a new store each time they stop in.
The store will carry a fresh inventory of name-brand home furnishings, accessories and mattresses from factory closeouts, overstocks and special or limited purchases, all available for immediate pick up or delivery. The new Weekends @ Furniture Row will retain the convenience of the Furniture Row Shopping Center, with four specialty stores each focused on a distinct category: fine wood dining, entertainment and home office furnishings; sofas and upholstered furniture and accent pieces; bedroom furniture and accessories; and mattresses.
Weekends @ Furniture Row will be located at the site of the current Furniture Row Shopping Center at 235 Sunland Drive, St. George, Utah. The grand opening will be Thursday, November 4. The current store will be closed October 31 – November 3 to prepare for the grand opening.
Over the same weekend, Furniture Row will launch Weekends @ Furniture Row in five other markets, including Green Bay and Appleton, Wisconsin; Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, Michigan; and Jonesboro, Arkansas.
“We chose a great mix of communities and store types to launch this concept,” said McKendry. “We’re very excited about what we consider to be a ‘winning formula’ for our customers. The combination of lowest price, first-quality furniture, fresh selection, immediate availability and convenient weekend hours is exactly what we believe the customer wants.”
