  • St. George Police Identify Robert Hall, 49, of St. George as Shooting Suspect in Sunday Incident

    (St. George, UT) - St. George Police Have identified the shooting suspect encountered Sunday when officers responded to a 911 "family fight" call about 12:45AM October 31, 2010 in the Millcreek Cottages complex at 1040 North 1300 West. The caller reported an intoxicated adult male had been involved in a physical altercation with an adult female with a gun. Upon arrival officers confronted Robert Hall, 49, of St. George, Utah fired a shotgun in their direction and officers returned fire.

    The suspect retreated into the residence and barricaded himself inside. St. George Police SWAT and Negotiation teams were called in to assist. After several hours of unproductive negotiations in which Hall was asked to surrender himself, police entered the residence where the suspect was located with an injury. Hall was taken to the Dixie Regional Medical Center for treatment where he remains in stable condition.

    Police have not released the identities the officers involved in the shooting incident pending and investigation by the Washington County Critical Incident Task Force. By department policy, officers involved in a shooting incident are automatically placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.
