(Phoenix, AZ) - On Veteran’s Day, Thursday, November 11, 2010, the Bureau of Land Management will admit all military veterans and current members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families, free of charge to Bureau of Land Management recreation sites in Arizona.

BLM Arizona State Director Jim Kenna thanks all veterans and current members of the U.S. Armed Forces for their service to our great nation. “Honoring our military service men and women by waiving fees on Veteran’s Day is one small way of saying thanks to all who have served or are currently serving our country.”

Fees will be waived at the following sites:

Arizona Strip - Virgin River Gorge Recreation Area - (435) 688-3200

Kingman - Burro Creek, Wild Cow Springs and Windy Point (928) 718-3700

Recreation - Lake Havasu Empire Landing and Crossroads Campgrounds and Bullfrog boat-in Shoreline Campsites (928) 505-1200

Phoenix - Painted Rock Petroglyph Site and Campground (623) 580-5500

Safford - Hot Well Dunes Recreation Area (928) 348-4400

Tucson - St. David Cienega/Land Corral, Fairbank Historic Townsite (520) 258-7200

San Pedro House and Hereford Bridge Trailheads (928) 317-3200

Yuma - Squaw Lake Campground and Boat Launch, Senator Wash Boat Ramp and Day Use Area

Senator Wash North and South Shore Campgrounds

    Betty’s Kitchen Watchable Wildlife Area.

    Oxbow Recreation Wildlife Area and

    Ehrenberg Sandbowl Off-Highway Vehicle Area

In 2006, the Bureau of Land Management began commemorating Veteran’s Day with a fee-free day to honor and thank all past and present members of the armed forces who have served our Nation.
