  • National Weather Service Issues Winter Storm Warning Through Thursday at 5:00PM

    (Salt Lake City, UT) - The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Utah and Southwest Wyoming.

    The warning in effect until Thursday at 5:00PM includes the cache Valley, Norgthern Wasatch Front, Salt Lake and Tooele Counties, Southern Wasatch Front, Salt Lake Desert and Mountains and Wasatch Mountain Valleys I-80 North-Wasatch Mountains South of I-80 Western Uinta Basin, Uinta Mountains, Wasatch Plateau, Book Cliffs, Western Uinta Basin, Castle Country, San Rafael Swell, Sanpete/Sevier Valleys, West Central Utah, Southwest Utah, Utah's Dixie and Zion National Park, South Central Utah, Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell, Central Mountains, Southern Mountains and Southwest Wyoming.

    The winter storm warning is is for western two-thirds of Utah and Southwest Wyoming through Thursday evening at 5:00PM.

    A cold and energetic storm system will move across the area Wednesday bring heavy snowfall to the higher terrain as well as most weathern valleys. The storm system could stay in place through Friday bringing the potential for additional snow fall. Much colder air will also accompany this system with daytime highs Thursday and Friday remaining in the teens across the weathern valleys and overnight lows falling into the single digits if no below zero.
