(Salt Lake City, UT) - The University of Utah Seismograph Stations in Salt Lake City reports an early morning earthquake Monday rattled some small communities in south central Utah, but no damage has been reported.

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations in Salt Lake City says the magnitude 4.5 quake occurred at 5:06AM. The epicenter of the shock was in the Tushar Mountains, nine miles northwest of Circleville. The quake was felt in Beaver and other nearby towns.

The agency says five aftershocks were recorded in the first 45 minutes following the main shock, the largest of which was about a magnitude 3.0.

Anyone who felt the earthquake is encouraged to fill out a survey form on the website of the Seismograph Stations or US Geological Survey
