(St. George, UT) - St. George Police are looking for a suspect involved in a series of fraudulent transactions at area banks and credit unions. Johnny Heppler, Public Information Officer of the St. George Police Department said investigators have releases photos of the suspect and asked for the public assistance in identifying the person.

The suspect described as a black adult female with black curly shoulder length hair in her early late 20's or early 30's between 5'4" and 5'6" tall. She has been using a stolen Wells Fargo Debit card. Approaches bank or credit union tellers asking for a cash advance on the card. When it does not work she calls her "bank" and then the person on the other end of the phone directs the teller what to do on the Veriphone or other type of card reading system. The transaction is forced through receiving approval by confusing the system by directions from the person on the phone to the teller. The amount is approved and cash given to the suspect.

Bank and credit union employees have been requested to be extra cautious and observant. If you can assist police in identifying the suspect or information regarding that would help police, please call the St. George Police Department at (435) 627-4300.
