(St. George, UT) - SouthWest Community Credit Union, a division of Chartway Federal Credit Union, Friday named Jeff McBride, Regional President. McBride replaces Muriel Blake who retires after a 27-year career with the company today. McBride, a St. George resident, was Vice President of Retail at SouthWest Community Credit Union.

“Throughout her time at SouthWest Community, Muriel has had an incredible impact on the lives of credit union members and employees,” said newly-named Regional President, Jeff McBride. “She really cares about people and goes to great lengths to serve others. Her business insight and strong leadership have been critical to SouthWest’s success.”

During his nearly 18-year career with SouthWest Community, McBride has held a number of leadership positions within the company. As the Vice President of Retail, McBride was responsible for overseeing the credit union’s Retail operations. Before that, he was the Chief Financial Officer, and was instrumental in automating core and accounting processes. He also served as branch manager from August 1993 to June 1999.

A 2001 graduate of Southern Utah University with a Master of Business Administration, McBride earlier received a B.S. degree in Business - also from Southern Utah University. In addition, he is a 1998 graduate of Western CUNA Management School.

McBride is an avid supporter of the community. He volunteers regularly with church and civic organizations, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for United Way Dixie where he holds the office of Treasurer.

“Jeff is a strong, enthusiastic and respected leader with superior business and financial acumen,” says Chartway’s President and CEO, Ron Burniske. “His extensive industry and true passion for helping others achieve their financial goals will be invaluable assets as he segues into his new, expanded role.”
