  • Harrisburg Wildfire 100% Contained - 216-acres Burned

    (Harrisburg, UT) - The Harrisburg wildfire which started Friday, July 15, 2011 at approximately 8:04PM about 1 mile south of Harrisburg, Utah west of Quail Creek State Park (12 miles north of St. George) has burned 216-acres.

    The human caused fire remains under investigation after burning 216-acres of cheatgrass on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and City of Hurricane land. State highway 91 south of Harrisburg and Highway 318 were reopened at 7:00PM Saturday.

    Fire crews an resources used included: 7 wildland engines and 1 water tender. Fire vehicles and personnel still remain in the . Authorities are encouraging motorists to use caution. No evacuations or structures were threatened by the Harrisburg fire.
