(St. George, UT) - Stroll Main Street Friday, December 9th from 6:00-9:00 in the evening, and you will find artistic demonstrations and live music in the fine art galleries of downtown St. George as local creative talent comes together for the December Art On Main art walk.

To participate, begin at the St. George Art Museum, taking in the beautiful exhibit “Grant Canyon Grandeur,” then visit fine art galleries from 200 North to Tabernacle Street, where featured artists will be in attendance creating and talking about their artwork. Featured artists include pastel artist Julie Rogers, watercolorists Roland Lee and Russell Black, painters Ivan Blagorenko, Michael Bedard, Ken Harris and Jeff Ham, and ceramists Brady Richardson and Stephen Craig Kent. Local talented musicians will also add to the evening by perfoming live music within the galleries. Fine art ranging from Utah artists James Christiansen and David Koch to Southern Utah talents Kate Starling and Jeff Ham to young emerging artists will be on display, as each gallery represents a different collection of fine art. Music will also vary from gallery to gallery including classical strings, singer-songwriter, bluegrass, and jazz, with local talents such as SUSWA's Josh Larsen , and the Jim Sevy Jazz Trio performing. A punch card can also be obtained at the St. George Art Museum, which can be turned in at Twenty-Five Main Cafe for a chance to win a piece of artwork at 9:00 in the evening. There is no cost to participate in Art On Main.

After 9:00pm, an additional gathering will take place at GoGo 37 Gallery called the "Art On Main Finale" featuring live jazz music and local artist Kaitlin Sevy, with a cover charge of $5.00.

There is no cost to participate in Art On Main. Art On Main is a project of St. George art advocate Art Around the Corner, whose flagship project includes the downtown outdoor sculpture exhibit. For additional information call the St. George Art Museum at 627-4525.
