(St. George, UT) - The Utah Department of Transportation public information officer Kevin Kitchen reports I-15 was reopened at 4:45AM after being closed in both directions near the Utah-Arizona border by Arizona authorities. The closure was ordered following the suicide of a bank robbery suspect during a traffic stop.

The suspect, identified as Troy Eugene Williams, 43 of Punta Gorda, Florida, was stopped by Arizona DPS officers around 1:00PM. He had been living with family in Las Vegas and was reported as a missing/endangered person, considered armed and dangerous by Las Vegas Metro Police.

No explosives or hazardous materials were found inside the suspect's vehicle.

Any idea what the "seriously hazardous material" is? To warrant hazmat teams flown in from Phoenix and a freeway thoroughfare closed to possibly tomorrow afternoon, must be seriously serious. Nuclear? Biological?

My father had nothing hazardous. He's harmless and wouldn't harm a fly. He simply did what he thought he had to do to provide for his family. As you can read in the reports, no weapons were used in the robbery, nor was anyone injured. That man is my Hero.
