Eagle Point is the rebranded ski area once known as Elk Meadows east of Beaver that had been shut down for eight-years before a hedge fund and private equity group led by Eagle Point Chief Executive Officer Shane Gadbaw took over operations late year.
Eagle Point operations manager Lane Tucker said the ski area started up all five chair lifts Friday and the slopes are covered with 12 to 18 inches of snow.
Eagle Point had a banner season when more than 600 inches fell last winter. The ski area got so much snow in December 2010, seven feet from a single storm, that it lost power for four days.
Eagle Point boasts two newly renovated lodges and The Lookout, an on-mountain warming station with spectacular views of the Tushar Mountains. Start the day at the Skyline Lodge, located near the upper parking lot, where you’ll find lift tickets, lessons, rentals, The Skyline Café, and quick access to fantastic beginner and intermediate terrain
