(St. George, UT0 - The Dixie State College Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of DSC Music Department Chair Glenn Webb, opens the St. George Concerts in the Park series on Monday, April 9 at 7:30PM at Vernon Worthen Park, located at 300 South 400 East. The free concert is sponsored by the St. George Arts Council.

The Jazz Ensemble will perform many traditional and innovative classics in jazz history, including the music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington, in addition to new arrangements of contemporary music. The Concerts in the Park series, which runs the first Monday evening of each month throughout the summer, is a celebration of music, parks, and families.

Dixie State’s Jazz Ensemble will close out its 2011-12 performance schedule with its annual Spring Concert on Thursday, April 19, at 7:30PM in the Eccles Fine Arts Center Mainstage Theater. General admission tickets will be available at the door for $5 for adults and $1 for DSC students and faculty and staff with current ID.
