Men's 100-meter Dash
Sophomore Shaun Murray will likely lead the T-Birds in the 100-meter dash, having finished first in the 60-meter dash at the Summit League Indoor Championship with a season personal best of 6.90. Preston Myers will also represent Southern Utah in the sprint and currently holds a 10.80 personal record in the 100-meters.
Women's 100-meter Dash
The women's field will include Northern Arizona sprinter Darriel Banks, who currently ranks second in the Big Sky with a time of 11.88. Lindsay Terry will be among the competing SUU sprinters with a personal best 100-meters time of 12.48, recorded in 2011. Terry also finished seventh in the 60-meter dash at the indoor conference championship with a time of 7.85.
Women's 3,200-meter Run
The athletes will race in distances slight varied from the usual collegiate meet. Instead of a collegiate 3,000-meter run and 1,500-meter run, the distance teams will race in a 3,200-meter run and mile (1,600-meters).
Diana Medina-Mitchell will lead the Thunderbirds in the 3,200-meters, as well as Jamie Smith. Medina-Mitchell finished top in the 3,000-meters at the indoor conference championship and recorded a personal best time of 9:31.93, while Smith holds a personal best of 9:57.71 in the 3,000-meters. The women hope to finish the 3,200-meter run in under 10:20 at the home meet.
Men's Mile Run
Indoor All-American Cameron Levins will lead the field in the men's mile with a personal best and Southern Utah record time of 3:57.16, and will attempt to record the first sub-four minute mile raced at Southern Utah.
Big Sky competitor Jordan Chipangama will lead NAU's mile team after a third-place conference finish during the indoor season. Chipangama also holds a sub-four minute personal best, having recorded a 3:59.47 finish at the NAU Tune-Up (converted from 4:08.50 at altitude).
The SUU/NAU Dual will begin at 2:00PM Saturday, March 31 and is expected to conclude by about 5:00PM.
