He joined the U.S. Army at 16 years old, was injured and returned home to finish his high school education. Ralph was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a professional Boxer in Battle Mountain, Nevada, was a motorcycle enthusiast, loved His children and grandchildren, and lived to ride his ATV. His careers varied from sales, forestry, logging, city maintenance, and eventually retired from SUU as a custodian.
He is survived by his children Cecelia Lewis, Monte Burt Cartwright (David) of Beaver, Utah; Warren Lewis (Charisse) of Kanarraville, Utah; Bradley Lewis (Angie) of Kanarraville, Utah; 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Lois Talbot, Marylou Bruce, Ethyl Lori Patterson, Helen Young, Afton Lewis, and Marrion Steele; also by his former wives Geraldine Tresa Martin, Judy Nervie Dodson, Fonda Marie Beckstead Johnson.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ellis, Gibb, Warren, Herman, Arlen, and Charles; his sisters Kathryn and Irene; daughter Brenda Marie; and loving grandson Brodee.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kanarraville LDS Ward Chapel located at 80 South Main Street in Kanarraville, Utah. Visitation will be prior to the services from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery in Cedar City, Utah under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
