Jackie was born May 23, 1969, in St. George, Utah to John P. and Rose Irene Lister. She was the third of six children. Always cheerful, she was affectionately called “Smiling Jack”.
Jackie graduated from Pine View High School in 1987. She continued her education on scholarship to Evan’s Beauty School earning a certificate of graduation.
After completing Beauty School, she worked as a cook in the hospital cafeteria. The time spent working there, sparked her interest in providing health care.
In the health care industry, Jackie worked hard and obtained the skills to be valuable in many capacities including CNA, cardiology monitor tech, EKG tech, EEG tech, Sleep Study tech, and Hospice care.
Her family and friends have benefited greatly from her talents and abilities as she has lovingly served many. Her parents are especially grateful for the many hours of care she has given them in their times of great need. Her bubbling personality and the true love and concern she had for so many will be part of the legacy she leaves behind.
She takes with her a strong testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she has enjoyed serving in various callings. She cherished her endowments that she received in the St. George Temple.
Her daughter, Charli Rose born November 6, 1997, was the light of her life. They have a very close and special relationship that will extend throughout the eternities. Jackie always made Charli her number one priority.
For the past eight years, Jackie fought a valiant fight against a rare and extremely difficult cancer. She continued to work and be a support to her family during that time. She bravely endured great pain so she could extend her time with her daughter, family, and friends.
She enjoyed photography, sewing, camping, collecting frogs, and spending time with friends and family.
Jackie is preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Marie Fain and her grandparents. She is survived by her daughter Charli Rose Lister; her parents, John P. Lister and Irene Lister; her siblings, Lori (Kenneth) Ivey, Susie (Kent) Cooper, Sherrie (Paul) Moss, and Tony (Leah) Lister; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins; and more friends than could ever possibly be counted.
