Garrett grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended Cottonwood High School. He enjoyed playing football and other sports. He loved to spend his summers visiting his family in Enterprise and the cabin on Cedar Mountain. He was adventurous and loved to snowboard and ride ATV’s. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which he loved so much. He lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for a few years and made many great friends there. He was also able to achieve one of his goals in life, which was to take out his endowments at the temple. After their time in Florida, Garrett and his family moved to Enterprise in 2010, which was a great blessing to be closer to family.
Garrett had a love for life and was a great example to everyone around him. He had an outgoing and fun-loving personality. He loved to be around people and had a way of making friends wherever he went. He loved to travel and see different places. But most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and was looking forward to the birth of his little boy.
Garrett is survived by his wife Renata; son, Porter (Salt Lake); daughters, Isabella and Victoria; his parents, Mark and Melanie (Bowler) Slack; sister, MarKay (CR) Thelin; brother, Truman (Sharlee) Slack (all of Enterprise); grandparents, Gordon and Jeanette Slack (St. George) and Leon and Pauline Bowler (Enterprise).
