Turner was a two-time first-team all-Great West Conference performer at cornerback for the Thunderbirds. A converted safety, he started 32 of 33 games over the past three seasons, the last 21 at corner. During his career he tallied 192 tackles, including 69 last season when he ranked fourth on the team in total tackles, was second in solo stops with 48 and co-led the team with four passes broken up. He was sixth on the team in tackles (54, 36 solo) in 2010, when he missed one game, and fifth in 2009 (61, 40 solo) when he lined up in the free safety position. He also had three career interceptions, one in each of the last three seasons. This past season he took his one pick 33 yards for a touchdown against UT-San Antonio.
