    (St. George, UT) - Metta Tweedie, 91, passed away May 5, 2012, in St. George, UT. She was born April 9, 1921 in St. George, to Ether Wood and Augusta Carter Wood and was married in the St. George L.D.S. Temple to Wilden Tweedie on October 30, 1940. With Wilden, she served a Mission for the Church in Alaska, from July 1980 to Dec. 13, 198l, and they were Temple Ordinance Workers in the St. George Temple from 1983 to 2000.

    She is survived by her son, Jeff Tweedie of Clovis, CA; daughters: Shannon Hall of Las Lunas NM, Rosemary White of Lincoln CA, and April Wheeler of Clarksville TN. She is also survived by her sister, Rosamond Ramstrom; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Red Cliffs LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 1155 North 1400 West, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
