  • UPDATE: Hurricane Assist 2 Brush Fire 100-Percent Contained; 2200-acres Burned

    (Hurricane, UT) - The 2200-acre brush fire southeast of Hurricane is 100-percent contained, according to David Eaker, acting Public Information Officer for the Color Country Interagency Fire Management Area. The man caused fire located in the hills between Hurricane and Apple Valley south of state Highway 59 remains under investigation.

    Fire Crews and resources deployed - 1 wildland engine with crew and other local resources.

    The 2200-acre fire burned brush and cheat grass on land owned or managed by the Bureau of Land Management, State of Utah and private.
