(Mesquite, NV) - For the third consecutive year, Eureka Casino Resort will host "Rockets over the Red Mesa" Wednesday, July 4th beginning at 8:00PM (PDT) with fireworks at 9:00PM (PDT).

Eureka officials said that due to the overwhelming response to last year’s performance of the Nevada POPS Orchestra, the orchestra will return again this year to accompany the fireworks, a gift to the Eureka Casino Resort celebrating patriotism and local communities.

This year the celebration will include a Community Vendor Village and a special Hot Dog Eating Contest. The Eureka has invited local charities and volunteer organizations to use the attraction of this special event to educate and raise money for their organizations as part of the Community VendorVillage.

Andre Carrier , Chief Opperating officer of the Eureka said, "Lemonade and crackerjacks all go great with a fireworks show. The idea is to give local charities the opportunity to sell those and many other items at the show to raise both money and awareness for their causes."

Community Vendor Village will be located behind the main casino and will run from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Doris Lee, Eureka’s co-founder and owner said, "After last year’s show we received many wonderful comments and letters. Seeing so many come out and enjoy the show was a great gift to us and we are happy to be able to bring the Nevada POPS back again this year."

For this special July 4th performance, the Nevada POPS will feature a 31 piece orchestra performing a 75 minute program.

Greg Lee owner of Eureka Casino Resortsaid "Fourth of July fireworks are a great American tradition and Mesquite is a great American town. It is only fitting that Mesquite is home to a great 4th of July celebration."

"Rockets over the Red Mesa" produced by Las Vegas Display Firework, Inc. is always a great show and this year they have a few new tricks to show off, Lee said.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the Jack Daniels Backyard BBQ and Budweiser Beer Garden in the Experience Buffet. The BBQ buffet will run from 3:30PM to- 8:00PM (PDT) and will feature a build your own burger station, Eureka’s famous BBQ Spare Ribs and much more.

The fireworks show and POPS performance is Free to the public. The viewing area will be set up behind the Eureka Casino. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
