(SAN RAFAEL, CA) – Firing 14 more shots than your opponent on the soccer field usually gives you a definite advantage toward victory. However, that advantage did not aid the Dixie State College women’s soccer team against Dominican University of California.

The host Penguins scored one goal in eachhalf en route to a 2-0 victory in a Pacific West Conference match at Kennely Field.

The Red Storm (1-3-2 / 1-1-0 PWC) out shot the Penguins 10 to three in the first half and nine to two in the second half, but none of the 19 efforts found their way toward the goal.

Kristin Page had four shots to lead all DSC players. Jen Mason added three shot, one match removed from her second career hat trick.

Dixie State faces the Urban Knights of ART U on Thursday at 2 p.m. Mountain (1 p.m. Pacific) in San Francisco.
