(Sandy, UT) - The Utah Association of Realtors has named Lori Chapman, associate broker with Coldwell Banker Premier in St. George, as the 2012 Realtor of the Year. The honor was presented at the UAR’s recent annual convention in St. George.

The Realtor of the Year award is a decades-old tradition of the Utah Association of Realtors that honors Realtors who commit themselves to serving and improving the real estate profession. The first award was presented in 1960, and Chapman is the 52nd Realtor to earn this honor.

“Only a very select group of Realtors will ever receive this award,” said Chris Kyler, UAR CEO. “Lori has worked tirelessly this past year to educate home buyers and sellers about conditions in today’s housing market, and many people are indebted to her for the information she has provided. She has also dedicated her time and skills to making sure Realtors statewide have the tools they need to best serve Utah’s real estate consumers.”

Chapman is an associate broker with Coldwell Banker Premier in St. George and has been a Realtor for 30 years. She specializes in second homes, resort real estate and new construction. She currently serves as president of the Utah Association of Realtors and previously was president-elect, vice president and treasurer. In 2008, she served as president of the Washington County Board of Realtors.

Chapman has actively been involved in committees for the Utah Association of Realtors, the Washington County Board of Realtors and the Southern Utah Home Builders Association. Chapman holds the real estate designations of Certified Residential Specialist, Graduate Realtor Institute, Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist, and Short Sale Specialist. In 2009, she received the Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Washington County chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors.

“Lori is a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman,” Kyler said. “Utah’s real estate community is lucky that she has used her passion and skills to promote and improve this profession.”

The Utah Association of Realtors is the official trade association for real estate professionals in Utah.
