Hat Trick Number Three for Mason, DSC Tops Swords 5-0

(St. George, UT) - Call it the hat trick of hat tricks. Jennifer Mason scored the first three goals Saturday night en route to a Dixie State College 5-0 win over Chaminade University in Pacific West Conference play. Dixie State bumped its current match winning streak to six, improving to 6-3-2 overall and 6-1 in the PacWest. Both first half goals from Mason were unassisted while the third – in the second half - was a header set upbeautifully by freshman Megan Marchbanks. Kelsey Hansen added the fourth goal in the 71st minute spinning around her defender from 10 yards. Danica Pickett tallied her first goal to the right side of the net four minutes later. Dixie State was relentless at the net with 38 shots, 22 of which were on goal. Abby Johnson made two saves over 71 minutes of play for the win in goal. Chaminade fell to 0-8, 0-6 in the league. The Red Storm face the Lady Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii at 7 p.m. on Monday. The match will be played on the soccer field at Dixie High School.
