(St. George, UT) - The “Celebration of Families” Harvest Festival is an event to highlight the resources available in our community that will help build and support strong families. This free event is being held Saturday Oct. 27th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will take place in Vernon Worthen Park at 300 E. 400 S.

The “Celebration of Family” brings together organizations in Washington County that are focused on strengthening the bond of family. In addition to informational booths the event will offer free pork sandwiches provided by Utah Pork Producers and other snacks and drinks donated and served by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. The festival will include door prizes, fun activities presented by each organization, and a magician. There will also be live music throughout the day.

Sponsors for this event include Utah Pork Producers, Findlay Automotive, the Washington County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition, Verizon Hopeline, the DOVE Center, and approximately 30 organizations from the around the community hosting booths.

The principle goal of the “Celebration of Family” is to motivate community members to discover services available to their families, understand the dynamics involved in strengthening their families, and to promote peace in the home. This is the third year this event is being held. Last year 25 organizations hosted booths and over 350 members of the community were in attendance.
