(Heber City, UT) - The family of missing person Steven Koecher looks to honor his name by doing as he would do -serving the community. The family plans to sell a song he wrote and sung on iTunes and Amazon with proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah.

Today marks three years since Koecher disappeared from a Henderson, NV neighborhood and his family wants the community to remember him as he was, a person who served. “The Steven I know loved two things – music, and serving others,” said Matthew Koecher, Steven’solder brother, “by selling a song that he wrote, and giving the money to charity just seems fitting.” Before Steven disappeared in 2009 he actively served with the St. George chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah. As a big brother he helped mentor a young man through sports and other activities. “Steven was a thoughtful and dependable Big Brother who wanted to be a good role model for a Little Brother. His goal was to make a Little Brother feel good about himself,” said Kariann Atkin of the St. George chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah. “Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah is thankful to the family [of Steven Koecher] for their generous donation on behalf of an amazing Big Brother.”The Koecher family wants to encourage anyone that knows Steven or his family to give to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah by purchasing his song. His song, “Felt Like This,” will go on sale on Amazon and iTunes the first part of next week. “Steven loved music so much, I can only imagine what it would mean to him to hear a song that he wrote sold online,” said Dallin Koecher, Steven’s younger brother. Coping with the disappearance of a loved one has been difficult for the Koecher family, and the holiday season always makes the family wish they had more answers and that Steven would come back home. Doing something Steven would do really helps make him feel close,” Matthew said. Steven went missing on December 13, 2009 in a quiet Henderson, NV neighborhood. Home surveillance video shows Steven entering the neighborhood, parking his car and walking toward an area outside the view of the camera. The family has had little leads since then. “In addition to helping Big Brothers Big Sisters, we hope that by selling his song online that it may generate new leads,” Dallin said. Others wishing to contribute to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah can do so through a Fundrazr account. The link will be posted on the “Help Us Find Steven Koecher” Facebook page, and on www.forsteven.com.
