According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office the cause of death was a result of asphyxiation.
Mesquite Police Detectives received information during the course of their investigation into the April 13th homicide of Michael Eldridge, that there was possibly a second victim.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence on East Mesquite Boulevard where they found the body of an unidentified adult, male which was concealed in the basement of the residence.
The identification of the second victim will not be released until the Clark County Coroner’s Office has completed an autopsy.
Monday afternoon, April 15, 2013 MPD Officers arrested 30 year old Jeramiah Juber, of Hurricane, Utah in connection with the homicide of the second victim.
Ryan Wood, of Mesquite is being held in connection with the homicide of both victims.
Mesquite Police Officers responded to the area of Mesquite Boulevard and Sandhill Boulevard about 6:20 pm, Saturday, April 13, 2013 after receiving a 911 report of an adult male who had been stabbed and was needing medical attention.
Officers arrived on scene and discovered a 50 year old male who was conscious and bleeding heavily from apparent knife wounds. Mesquite Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and transported the victim to Mesa View Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead from his wounds.
Ryan Wood, 43, of Mesquite was taken into custody in connection with the stabbing by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD) near the Logandale/Moapa area later that evening.
LVMPD Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) arrived to process a residence located on East Mesquite Boulevard were the crime allegedly occurred.
The Mesquite Police Department has identified the victim in Saturday night’s stabbing as 50 year old Michael Eldredge, of Mesquite. According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office the cause of death was a result of multiple stab wounds.
This case is still under investigation. Further information will be released when available.
