  • Mesquite Police Detective and Nevada DPS Officer on Adminsitrative

    (Las Vegas, NV) - The Nevada Department of Public Safety Investigation Division and Mesquite Police Department’s multi-jurisdictional task force was involved in a police shooting near Lamb and Craig Roads in North Las Vegas.

    The incident occurred during a narcotics investigation, where shots were fired by officers after the suspects rammed undercover vehicles and attempted to hit officers as they fled the scene. After a short vehicle and foot pursuit, officers arrested three suspects. A firearm along with a large amount of narcotics were seized. All suspects apprehended have an extensive criminal history. They have been charged with drug trafficking with additional charges pending. It is unknown at this time if the suspects fired at officers.

    The North Las Vegas Police Department is conducting an investigation of the incident. There were two undercover officers involved in the shooting, one a Nevada DPS Detective and a Mesquite Police Detective. Both have been placed on routine administrative leave with pay, pending the outcome of the investigation.
