The 5-acre fire is burning in steep rugged terrain of North Fork Canyon. Firefighters have accessed the area on foot. Helicopter aerial attacks have also proven effective. Incident officials report four structures in the general vicinity of the fire are threatened.
Crews from Color Country Fire Management Center including resources from the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, Dixie National Forest, and State of Utah are on the scene. A combination of helicopters, engines, and hand-crews continue to work toward containment.
There have been no evacuations, injuries or closures, according to fire officials. The fire is managed by the State of Utah, Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands.
