  • Update: Badger Wildfire North of Cedar City

    (Cedar City, UT) - The Color Country Interagency Fire Center report that the Badger Wildfire 19-miles north of Cedar City caused by lightning is 80=percent contained. The 397-acre fire has consumed Pinyon pine and Juniper trees along with grass. Full containment is expected by late Thursday. No structures have been threatened by the fire.

    There are three hand crews, 2 engines, one water tender with overhead water drops engaged in fighting the fire. 78 personnel are committed to the Badge wildfire.

    Fire managers continue to monitor and secure containment lines around the fire. Smoke and haze is visible from Cedar City, Minersville, Milford and the travel corridors of Highways 130 and 21.
