Robbery suspect caught on surveillance cameras at Zions Bank 865 West Telepgraph Monday, August 23, 2010.
(Washington City, UT) - Washington City Public Safety Director Jim Keith issued a news release Monday afternoon about a bank robbery at Zions Bank, 865 West Telegraph street, Washington City. Keith said the police were called at approximately 2:00PM alerting them of the robbery. He said the suspect is a female in her 50's who handed a note to a bank teller demanding money. Keith said the robber left on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect is believed to have been in a vehicle heading south-bound from the bank described as a gold/champagne colored Chrysler Sebring with a different colored front bumper.

Police report the bank robber was a white female, about 50-years of age, medium length dark hair (possibly tucked up in bun), a crème colored full brimmed hat and dark framed sun glasses. She is described as 5'7" tall, 175 pounds, wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored short-sleeve long T-shirt and white shoes.

Investigators believe the female bandit may have used two vehicles in her getaway; the first a gold/champagne colored Chrysler Sebring with a different colored front bumper last seen going south-bound on 3050 east and Deseret Drive. The 2nd vehicle is believed to be a silver Nissan 4-door sedan last seen with a driver matching the description of the robbery suspect traveling east-bound toward Jack-in-the-Box and El Polo Loco restaurants.

Washington City police detectives and Special Agents of the FBI are interviewing people and following leads. The bank robbery is a joint investigations with the FBI and Washington City Police Department.
