(Mesquite, NV) - Impaired drivers will be the focus of a “Joining Forces” traffic enforcement event now through Labor Day Weekend according to Mesquite Police Department, Sergeant Rob Stepp, coordinator of the program.

Additional officers will be conducting high visibility enforcement at DUI checkpoints in Mesquite and across the State of Nevada for intoxicated drivers, said Sergeant Stepp. The main objectives of this event are to reduce impaired driving fatalities and to educate the public on the perils of driving while intoxicated.

Mesquite officers will be joining police departments from Henderson, North Las Vegas, Nevada Highway Patrol, Boulder City, Las Vegas Metro and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

The Joining Forces traffic enforcement campaign is funded by the Office of Traffic Safety, Nevada Department of Public Safety.
