  • Warren Jeffs Refused to Sign Texas Extradition Papers to Face Bigomy and Sexual Assault Charges

    (West Jordan, UT) - In the hearing before Judge Terry Christiansen Tuesday, FLDS leader Warren Jeffs refused to sign the waiver of extradition to Texas where he facing bigomy and sexual assault charges.

    Jeffs' attorney Wally Bugden is planning to file a writ of habeas corpus, which is due by October 8, 2010. The state's response is then due by October 22, 2010 and then Jeffs' attorneys are to respond by October 29. The next hearing is scheduled for November 15, 2010 at 2:30PM.

    Judge Christiansen signed an order allowing Jeffs to appear in civilian clothing for future hearings.
